Post subject: LOCUTION PODCAST |
|
|
ROLES HAVE BEEN MADE, SIGN UP FOR WHATEVER FITS YOUR FANCY, CHECK THE END OF THIS POST FOR THE LIST
Are you planning to participate or have you participated in a "Let's Read" and thought... what if this was more?
Are you interested enough to provide at least monthly material worth hearing about?
Are you just cool with audio fun and like the idea of hearing your voice piping through your tiny, tinny speakers?
Are you ready to FEEL THE FUCKING FURY?
THEN DO I HAVE A JOB FOR YOU!
I am now recruiting for the Locution Podcast Party, a group of willing and able locutioners wishing to make the audio experimentation we have done in the past into a glorious presentable and semi-professional project.
THE MISSION: We will, together, form a plan to make monthly or maybe even weekly installments of vocal titillation for the rest of Locution's auditory pleasurement. We will follow through with this plan and rule all those fools.
THE TOOLS: Skype, most likely, and heavy use of Audacity. Maybe if someone has experience with making interesting music we can even have a short little theme song or ditty to go at the beginning and between segments, so maybe Garageband would be useful.
So come down, join the fun! Leave a post here and express interest and the way in which you'd like to implement your interest, and the most August and Glorious Podcast Tsar Sarck (Tsarck) will adjudicate your usefulness wisely.
Addendum: Also, feel free to suggest ideas and projects to be done with our assembled podcast team.

RECORDER/AUDIO ASSISTANT
NOTE: YOU CAN APPLY FOR TWO ROLES, PREFERABLY NOT IN THE SAME GROUPING (one Admin, one On-Air, ideally). IF YOU WANT MORE, BE SURE THAT YOU HAVE THE TIME AND PRESENCE OF MIND TO KEEP THAT RESPONSIBILITY. WE WILL RULE ALL THE FOOLS. ALL OF THEM.
So, in the administrative role group: HEAD ORGANIZER is clearly moi, as I have taken it upon myself to be motivated and do this. Should anyone wish to question my authority, they will be directed to my formal title as TSARCK. Alternatively, I'm cool with sharing opinions and working together and all that jazz, so feel free to question and prod and come up with ideas.
ASSISTANT ORGANIZER: As my Ass Organ, you must be sure to take any and all falls on my behalf, including onto swords and the like. More accurately, you just help in general and we can sorta keep things on track in the event that one or the other gets completely side-tracked. No point in this falling through because of one weak link.
AUDIO EXPERIMENTER: Your help will be needed in areas of software workarounds and generally figuring out the technical side of things. I'll probably do most of the work if needed to be honest, but having another mind to work with always helps. Any person willing to work this will be greatly appreciated and get lots of mentions for their kindness because if we can't get the file together and out, it's all a waste of effort.
SEGMENT BRAINSTORM GROUP: No roles really set for stuff within this, but we need someone+ to give ideas for skits and for segments within each podcast episode. Basically, particular ideas to talk about, or projects to show off, maybe a way in which to do it. Your contributions will be greatly appreciated.
Now, for On-Air roles:
ANNOUNCER: I volunteer personally, but I am totally fine with someone else playing this part. You will essentially be a wrangler for all the other speakers, mediating inbetween debates and talks, keeping people on track and on time and keep them away from undue rambling. Think of yourself as the ring leader. This person needs to have a strong On-Air presence, but not be so loud and boisterous as to overshadow the other actors and voices. Share the limelight well.
TALKING HEADS: Need a group of "regulars", people willing to feature and discuss things and generally bullshit. The more, the merrier. It will require a bit of dependability and being-around-ness, but hopefully we can fill empty spots with spare locutioners.
HOBBYISTS: If you're into sports, music, writing, what have you, and want to talk about it at length maybe once a month, this is the role for you. We'll give you a little time and segment, maybe 5 minute or even 30 minute spot, just say your spiel, talk with the announcer and regulars, and then you're off. No hassle. You can either go full regular hobbyist (be our Sports guy), or just random spur of the moment type stuff. Whatever you want to talk about, we want to hear.
Unless it's about your penis. Leave that to PM.
READERS: We'll probably incorporate the Locution "Let's Read" projects, so if you feel up to that kind of stuff, just leave a note saying you'd like to be a reader. Never know when this will come in handy. Off the top of my head, the Hamlet "Let's Read" is the only one currently available. It'll probably feature in our first or second episode.
RECORDER/AUDIO ASSISTANT: Some of the software we might use requires someone to just be quiet and record the whole event. Some of it requires special nurturing. If you want a free seat to live radio shows every month, this role is for you! If you want to fool around with Audacity files, this fits you perfectly. Coordination with the AUDIO EXPERIMENTER will be necessary most likely, and more likely than that is the AUDIO EXPERIMENTER (AE) may choose to apply for this role as well. That's probably the most ideal scenario, next to the AE and the RECORDER/AUDIO ASSISTANT (RAA) being super best pals and always keeping in touch.
Roles will be assigned by enthusiasm, rounds of applause, and perhaps even a little bit of folk singing. Please, show interest, most likely that's enough to get in.
LET'S GET IT ON~

Tentative yes, since I'm (slowly) getting better at talking on skype. ^_^
PS As far as ideas... er. Reading things? I'd be interested in listening to discussions, but not sure I'd be able to say much.

I do love the sound of my own voice and my own opinion.
I'd be interested in occasionally/maybe regularly contributing.

A podcast, you say? Sounds intriguing...though I do hope that if we pull this off we'll actually see the results published.
No offense, but the last time I agreed to a "community podcast" with someone elsewhere on the internets, the organizer disappeared from the site after we said our respective pieces.

Certainly! There's no huge rush. You won't be excluded if you can't make it for the moment.

I would be semi-interested in contributing as a music hobbyist type person. I just kind of suck at commitment, so talking head is kind of out, although that sounds fun. Feel free to use me to fill in for that if I'm around, though. And partaking in the 'let's read' stuff is always up my alley :D
